WLFC help two sisters to enjoy a 10 day skiing holiday
The West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity (WLFC) recently gave a £3,100 grant to fund a skiing holiday for two sisters suffering from several illnesses.
Thanks to support from WLFC, two sisters from St Helens, Emily Sandford age 12 and Faye Sandford age 10, are both off to South Tyrol, Italy, for a 10 day skiing holiday.
The two girls will be included in a party from the ‘Katie’s Ski Tracks’ charity which is a registered UK charity that changes young lives by taking children from disadvantage backgrounds, be it through life threatening or life limiting conditions, disability or extreme social problems on an adventure skiing holiday of a life time to Italy, without parents or carers.

Katie’s Ski Tracks liaises with parents and all other relevant agencies that work with the children to allow them 10 magical days of exhilarating travel, fun and excitement giving them an opportunity to discover independence, confidence, self esteem and a whole new outlook on life; participating in experiences they never thought possible.
Emily said: “I am looking forward to skiing it looks really good, I just hope I don’t break my arm.” Whilst her sister Faye said: “It’s exciting and I am looking forward to the snow.”
Paula the girl’s mother said “I was thrilled that the girls had this opportunity and wished to thank the Freemasons for all their help.”
The girls and their mother recently visited the Masonic Hall, Litherland to receive the grant and were met by the Hall Chairman Ian MacKinnon who gave them a guided tour of the hall and the lodge rooms. After the tour Paula said: “it was privilege to be allowed to look around your impressive building that exudes a sense of pride, I shall be proud to tell anyone about all the good work that you do.”
The girls have promised a full report on their return from Italy.
