An Old Crosbeian meets the Grand Master

In July, the head of Freemasonry in England, The Most Worshipful Grand Master HRH The Duke of Kent made a rare visit to “the Provinces”, when he visited Buckinghamshire.

Of the 5,000 freemasons in the province, a select 200 were chosen to meet The Grand Master at a reception held at Stoke Place.

One of those who was honoured to be presented to the Grand Master was Worshipful Brother Tim Gerrard (MTS 1979-84), who lives in Chalfont St Peter and is a member of the Bulwer Lodge of Cairo 1068 and Bowen Chapter 948, both in the province of Buckinghamshire, where he is involved in provincial training initiatives and a member of the Oration team.

The MW Grand Master discussed with Tim issues relating to the recruitment and retention of Freemasons, and how Freemasonry is perceived in modern society.

However, Tim’s “Mother Lodge” is The Old Crosbeian Lodge 4992, who meet at Merchant Taylors School six times a year, where he is currently the Immediate Past Master.
