The representative of the Provincial Grand Master, John. F. Wreyford, Chairman of the Sandon Group of Lodges, attended the installation meeting of the Litherland Lodge No 3676. He was accompanied by Bootle Group Chairman, Peter Levick and vice chairman Ian Gee.
Alan Carver, master elect was installed into the chair of King Solomon by the installing master, Bill O’Farrell. The working tools were very well presented by three junior brethren, John Tyrer, Dave Greenway and Richard Holland respectively.
At the end of the ceremony John brought the congratulations of the Provincial Grand Master, Peter Hosker, and also offered his personal congratulations to the newly installed Worshipful Master (WM).
A cheque for £200 was presented to John for the West Lancashire Freemason’s Charity and another for £100 for the Hall Building Fund.
A cordial and harmonious time was had at the festive board and further collection of £80.00 was donated to a 6 year old terminally ill Child who has Andrenoleukodystrophy or ALD as it’s commonly known. This illness was brought to the world’s attention by a film called “Lorenzo’s Oil” .This donation came from the “Potty Fund” which is the loose change the lodge collects at the end of each meeting. The WM is allowed to donate it to a charity of his choice.
